Christmas isn’t Working

Workers in the retail and hospitality sectors should be guaranteed, at the very least, a full day off on Boxing Day following the long and pressurised hours worked in the build up to Christmas

There is no acceptable economic or social argument for shops, or hospitality venues, opening up again within hours of Christmas Day. Workers in those sectors need to be able to enjoy the festive period with their friends and family and should have a guaranteed right to do so.

The Workers Pary supports the shop workers union USDAW’s campaign for a Christmas break for staff.
