The Royal College of Nursing is calling on all political parties to protect patient care across the UK by defending the nursing profession from cutbacks and short sighted decision making.
Lily Kerr who is standing in South Belfast has responded on behalf of the Workers Party.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to support the ‘Nursing Counts’ Campaign
As someone who has worked as a full time Trade Union Official for over 30 years covering the Health Service I am only too aware of the problems facing nursing staff across all areas of the Health and Social Care services. I understand the stress and low morale that understaffing causes. I understand the frustration that nurses feel trying to provide care in over crowed wards and departments, which impact not only on privacy and dignity for the patients but also on the standard of care provided’.
