Referendum call on integrated education

Kevin McNally

The Workers Party Assembly candidate for East Belfast candidate has welcomed a survey in which 88 per cent of people in Northern Ireland indicate their support for integrated education.

“The Executive parties at Stormont have failed to deliver on integrated education”, said Kevin McNally.

“There can be no excuse for educating our children separately. One of the first acts of the new Assembly must be to announce a referendum on the introduction of integrated education to let the people of Northern Ireland have their say” said Mr McNally.

“The Workers’ Party has been campaigning for integrated education in Northern Ireland for the past 40 years. This latest research indicates that it is an idea whose time has finally come. We must ensure that it is a priority for the new Assembly”, he concluded.
